At Leonardo Southampton, we have a Manufacturing Assistant opportunity within our TGS Detector Manufacturing Team.

The role will be to support various processes in line with the Leonardo Southampton site Manufacturing Process Instructions

The position is based at the Southampton site and is for onsite working, where you will work alongside the supporting Engineering & Quality teams.

This is to ensure that all product delivered to our customers, meets the required standards outlined within our

Quality Procedures.


You will be required to carry out a range of Manufacturing tasks using the site Process Work Instructions.

The role includes being able to:

  • Work in line with business processes and procedures, SAP, and local Inspection standard Operating processes
  • Accurately perform the required Manufacturing Processes in line with the site Quality Procedures
  • Control and Process all relevant Manufacturing & Quality documentation
  • Support Perpetual inventory checks.
  • Completion of All product types through the required processes
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and batch traceability
  • All training for the roles advised will be provided


What we are looking for:

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

  • You must be computer literate and be able to complete set tasks accurately & precisely.
  • Neat and tidy work ethic in line with 5s principles
  • Manually dexterous.
  • Must be prepared to work as part of small, closely knit team who can work unsupervised to complete set tasks.
  • Must be a UK National who is willing to undertake security vetting to SC level
  • Able to review and follow and carry out Quality Instructions
  • Liaise with support functions to ensure customer deliveries are maintained at all times
  • Be flexible and able to support a number of Process operations - these include cleanrooms (at Class 6 Standard) and Controlled Working Environments.


Must have skills
Successful candidate will need to have good dexterity and be able to handle small components in a medium to high volume - you will work directly with the supporting Engineering functions who will provide training.

Nice to have skills

  • Capable of working within business processes and procedures - including SAP and local Operating Inspection Standards
  • Previous Manufacturing Experience is essential
