Position Overview
A field sales-driven team is seeking an Associate, Growth Merchant Lead (aGML) for Emerging Markets to acquire new restaurant partners, drive transactional deal cycles, and contribute to the expansion of the company’s footprint in untapped and rural territories. This hands-on position is focused on face-to-face dealmaking, requiring extensive local travel, direct negotiation, and fast-paced business development. All approved travel expenses are covered.
Key Responsibilities
- Expand business presence in emerging and rural markets by identifying and closing new restaurant partnerships.
- Conduct face-to-face sales presentations, negotiate revenue share agreements, and drive deal closure cycles, both strategically and efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with the Regional Sales Manager and Outside Sales team, leveraging sales tools and market information to maximize effectiveness.
- Execute a largely transactional sales approach; close new business typically within days.
- Maintain activity and compliance for all travel, including possible overnights and longer travel stretches (hotel, flights, drives).
- Contribute to strategy/playbook development for scalable merchant growth tactics across assigned geography.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2.5 years’ experience in a closing sales or equivalent business development role.
- Proven ability and willingness to travel at least 50% of the time (territory is primarily rural/remote).
- Skilled in both inside and outside sales tactics, able to quickly build rapport and negotiate deals.
- Entrepreneurial and strategic mindset with a passion for building scalable sales practices.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
