Executive Summary
A leading technology-enabled marketplace is seeking a goal-oriented Associate, Growth Merchant Lead (aGML) for Emerging Markets to join an Outside Sales team. In this field-based role, you’ll foster new partnerships with local and regional restaurants across untapped and rural markets, contributing directly to the company’s growth strategy. The position requires direct, face-to-face selling, frequent travel and overnight stays, and collaborative coordination with a Regional Sales Manager. Strong commission potential and company-covered travel expenses are offered.
Key Responsibilities
  • Travel regularly across the assigned territory to expand the marketplace’s presence, primarily focusing on developing new restaurant partnerships in emerging and rural markets
  • Present the value of partnership and negotiate revenue share agreements with restaurant owners
  • Manage a fast-paced, transactional deal cycle with frequent closings, using both inside and outside sales tactics
  • Utilize sales tools and resources (sales sheets, gift cards, business cards) in coordination with regional leadership
  • Ensure compliance with travel policies and maintain accurate schedules; most travel within 2 hours of Des Moines, but may require longer trips or overnights
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of scalable success strategies and sales playbooks
Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 2.5 years of sales experience in a closing or outside sales role
  • Active Driver’s License required
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently (at least 50% of the time) including long drives and periodic overnight stays
  • Demonstrated skill with both inside and outside sales approaches
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable building new processes for business growth
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Highly organized and self-motivated; able to work independently in the field
