Executive Summary
We are seeking a strategic, resourceful, and high-performing Associate Manager, Transportation to lead fulfillment strategy and site operations for expanding new verticals. This role will support the end-to-end design and optimization of a logistics network, ensuring reliable and cost-efficient movement of goods across a rapidly scaling platform. Reporting to the Director of Strategy & Operations, you will collaborate across multiple functions to drive innovation, operational improvement, and network expansion while maintaining a strong focus on quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and execution of transportation flows across first-mile and middle-mile operations.
- Contribute to scalable routing strategies and mode selection frameworks balancing cost, speed, and service-level goals.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Finance, and Fulfillment Operations to deploy technologies such as TMS and route optimization tools.
- Translate operational insights into product feedback for roadmap decisions.
- Analyze network performance to identify capacity constraints and efficiency opportunities.
- Assist in the implementation of new lanes, consolidation strategies, or regional nodes in partnership with senior leadership.
- Use data to identify cost drivers and service gaps, supporting pilot programs and process rollouts.
- Support carrier partner selection and management.
- Assist in optimizing modal strategies (air, ground, LTL, FTL, parcel) and load planning for cost and performance improvements.
Skills & Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience in logistics, transportation, operations strategy, supply chain consulting, or a fast-paced tech environment.
- Systems thinker with strong ability to connect products, transportation, and operations.
- Execution-oriented and data-driven, moving quickly from analysis to action.
- Experience leading cross-functional programs and delivering results at scale.
- Able to thrive in ambiguity and enjoys building strategies in uncharted territory.
- Experience with SQL, Python, network modeling tools, or transportation systems a strong plus.
- Experience in high-growth startup or customer-facing roles a plus.
