Executive Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electromechanical Technician to join our client’s San Francisco-based team. This NDA-required role focuses on hands-on assembly, troubleshooting, and fabrication of advanced electromechanical systems, primarily associated with electric vehicles and robotics. The ideal candidate brings expertise in electric vehicle subsystems, electromechanical troubleshooting, and shop organization, and thrives in a collaborative, dynamic environment supporting next-generation technology development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and troubleshoot complex electromechanical robotics systems, focusing on electric vehicle components such as battery systems, motor controllers, and HVDC.
- Fabricate, assemble, and troubleshoot wiring and electrical systems for electric vehicle or industrial robotics; perform soldering, crimping, and cable management.
- Manage part inventory and build processes to ensure efficient workflow.
- Utilize Jira ticketing system to track tasks and manage issue resolution.
- Revise, update, and write assembly instructions and processes for ongoing improvements.
- Perform basic fabrication for both metal and plastic, including drilling, grinding, and cutting.
- Organize and maintain a highly functional shop environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience working with electric vehicle battery systems, motor controllers, and HVDC.
- Hands-on expertise assembling and troubleshooting complex electromechanical/robotics systems and wiring.
- Proficiency in soldering, crimping, cable management, and basic fabrication techniques.
- Demonstrated skills in shop organization and inventory management.
- Experience using Jira ticketing for workflow management.
- Ability to write and update clear assembly instructions and processes.
- Strong fabrication skills with metal and plastic.
Nice to Have
- Experience in CAN debugging and AV sensor calibration/configuration.
- Familiarity with reading circuit schematics and harness drawings.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering bench test equipment and Linux/Terminal usage.
- Advanced fabrication: welding, mill, lathe, CNC, laser cutting.
- Mobile, industrial, or combat robotics experience.
- Interest in Solidworks or previous experience.
- Capability to manage Jira ticketing boards and workflow creation.
