Job Purpose
:

You will be responsible for supporting the In Service Production line, this will involve, but not limited to, identifying, recording & analysing all emergent work for the aircraft. A particular focus on Customer Emergent Work, where you will be required to raise the correct paperwork (92C / EW Form) to document each task, following the process to get signature approval from both the Customer (as defined by business needs). You will be the focal point of contact for emergent work and therefore expected to be pro-active in providing analytical data to the business on past, present & potential emergent work.

Provide support to Aircraft Operations Management.

To support the line you will also be required to help with level 3 (op detail) planning detailing constraints to the progress of the aircraft and working with key stakeholders to obtain the correct information.

Ensure integrity and quality of the schedules are controlled and timely implementations of changes are made.

You will be responsible for meeting your day to day tasks and producing your deliverables on time and at the right quality in order that the Operations Business Performance & Works Analysis team can meet its objectives.

Key Job Accountabilities:

Your role could include, but not limited to the below:

Production Planning:

  • Produce and maintain an operations burndown (level 3) plan in accordance with the Aircraft Operations planning process, in line with the latest aircraft build schedule, taking into account the key constraints of the business, considering labour, build logic, critical path, capacity, tooling, and material availability. This will also include the interlink between emergent work and base activities
  • Using the operations burndown (level 3) plan assist the aircraft managers to accurately forecast by week, by day the build schedule.
  • Interrogate daily the operations that are available to work, analyse daily the completion and progress against the operations burndown plan. Report to the senior management team and key stakeholders.
  • Update of Aircraft Boards as and when required
  • Support production with the accuracy of clocking data, reason codes, and other ‘performance’ related statistics

Emergent Work:

  • Liaise with Aircraft Managers and operators to identify Emergent Work tasks. Raise correct paperwork (92C/EW Form).
  • Produce and maintain spreadsheets to record all Emergent Work tasks raised. Maintain spreadsheets listing all SNOWs and their status, sharing with Programme Management, Aircraft Managers, Business Performance & Works Analysis and all stakeholders.
  • Maintain a list of all Emergent Work and associated 92c’s raised for Aircraft Delivery.
  • Interrogate SAP/MES to monitor hours clocked against individual Emergent Work tasks, investigate discrepancies and liaise with Works Analysis to correct when required.
  • Facilitate twice weekly sign off meetings.

Business Performance & Works Analysis:

  • Work with all of the Operations Business Performance & Works Analysis team and with other teams around the business to develop and continuously improve the In Service Support processes in order to meet the needs of the business and standardise processes across LH where applicable. Ensure that all processes are accurately documented in the team’s departmental instructions.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the LH UK Aircraft Centre in order that the Operations Business Performance & Works Analysis team can work effectively to deliver the team’s deliverables.
  • You will undertake any other reasonable tasks that the Operations Business Performance & Works Analysis Manager may require of you so long as you have the appropriate skills, knowledge and support to be able to undertake the task.
  • You are responsible for taking reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work and to co-operate with managers, supervisors and others to enable the company to meet its statutory obligations for health, safety and environment.
  • Specific responsibilities for Employees are detailed within HSEMSM, Section 8.7.
  • You should take responsibility for understanding the Code of Ethics - Core Instruction No.PER.10.3 and making sure that you comply with it at all times whilst doing your job and, in particular, when acting for or on behalf of LHUK.


Must have skills

  • Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Excel and a knowledge of SAP
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Qualification to a HNC level in a numerical based subject or equivalent relevant experience will be considered.

Nice to have skills

  • Financial awareness (budgets, cost to date, estimate at completion)
  • Knowledge of the Leonardo Emergent Work process.
